The total number of matching items found is shown in the pane's title bar as well as on the browser's tab. Any posts not matching your search get deleted. When a post matches your search criteria, the post will be moved from the feed section over into this pane. The extension creates a pane on the left side of the web page where the results are shown.: After you close the prompt, the search will begin. When LinkedIn's site initially loads in the window, you will be prompted with a message indicating not to open any other tabs in the window or to minimize the window. I have however successfully run the search with the web page not showing at all, with it positioned entirely behind other apps. As long as you can see a part of it scrolling, it should not be a problem. The part of the page that must be visible is the news feed.

If the extension fails to scroll, try resizing all your desktop app windows that are currently open and allow a small portion of the search page that is running to be visible at all times. This is Chrome's way of reducing background processing from hogging up your memory. If you do, the search will either pause or be terminated. You must not minimize the window while a search is underway. There appears to be a minimum amount of time you have to wait between reloading your entire list from scratch. Even if a button appears, there is no guarantee that LinkedIn will restart the list from scratch. Once you reach the last post, LinkedIn may either show a button that you can click on to load new posts or you will have to refresh the page yourself. It seems that LinkedIn limits the total number of posts in your feed to around 500. It continues doing this until you retrieved all your posts. When you normally scroll to the bottom of your feed, LinkedIn will retrieve additional posts. The extension works by mimicking your scrolling. Solving this problem required opening the page in its own window. As long as the tab was showing, there was not a problem, but the moment you switched to another tab while a search was in progress, it would hang. Unfortunately, opening the LinkedIn site in a new tab was problematic. When you click on the SEARCH button, the popup will close and a new browser window will be opened with LinkedIn. If you don't want the search repeating after it completes, then leave the "refresh every" field blank, which is the default. If you don't want to limit by date, leave the "since" field blank, which is the default. UsageĪ post will only be included in the results when ALL the criteria has been met. If you want the search to repeat periodically after it completes, you can choose to set the repeat period to every 15 or 30 minutes, every hour, or every 2, 4, 6, 8, 24 hours.
